Where did you go to school?
I went to the University of Iowa and graduated in spring 2020 with a degree in enterprise leadership from the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, part of the Tippie College of Business.
How did you first hear about Arrive?
I first heard about Arrive during my junior year at the Spring Internship and Career Fair. I saw Arrive listed on the app with companies coming to the fair, and the description and location caught my interest. I then became an intern at Arrive during the summer, and from then on I knew I wanted to come back and work at Arrive after graduation.
What’s your favorite part of your job and what keeps you here at Arrive?
My favorite part of my job is the energy surrounding me. When I’m in the office around my manager, my mentor and my team, there is so much positive and collaborative energy that makes me want to work harder and be better at sales. There are a lot of things that keep me at Arrive, especially the people. During my time here, I’ve realized all the potential I have, and the people who work here are constantly pushing me to do things I didn’t think I would necessarily be able to do.
Have any advice for soon-to-be college grads?
Get out of your comfort zone and explore. Whether that means a new location or doing something different than what you’re used to, my advice would be to explore and don’t be afraid to start a new journey.
If you could go back in time and tell your college self one thing, what would it be?
Being a graduate of 2020, I would first tell myself to enjoy in-person classes a little more. I’d also tell myself to always trust myself and the people I’m closest with. Don’t care about what other people think and as long as you believe in what you’re doing, go by that and stick with it.
For someone about to start a career in logistics, what would you tell them?
I would tell them to be as much of a sponge as possible. Acknowledge the fact that you will make mistakes, but learn from those mistakes and continue to better yourself every day.
